No, this is not one of those maudlin, sad, "you guys and girls are so unfair" goodbyes.

No this is a very positive good bye. And it isn't good bye forever. I just need a break. For the last 8 years, I've been an obsessive political observer and occasional participant. The reason why I have been is strangely oppositive to my character. My natural way of being is decidedly apolitical, but times required differently from me. Honestly, I'm just an average Joe. I'm not supposed to care about what happens, but I do. The last eight years have sapped me and I think I've earned a little break. So I'm going to take the next month off. I think I've earned it. I think I need it. It is just so overwhelming. For the first time in a decade, I feel a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I want to enjoy that feeling, so I'm removing myself from the discussion for a while. I'll be back. Just hold down the fort while I'm gone.
