Do oil companies fear Obama ?
Thanks to Voinovich (sp) and others who've been calling Obama a socialist, gas prices are going down. Why? I think because Voinovich is an honest man. If he says Obama is a socialist, the Reps believe him.

What would socialism do? Take away (with payment, of course) all natural resources of a country and let the government or the country own all of them - water, oil, natural gas, ores, whatever nature put in the ground.

With European style socialism, business would thrive and have little restriction. People could work where they want, own homes, boats, airplanes, factories, worship where they want, you name it. The government would handle natural resources, health care, education and pensions.

Last month Exxon had its hugest profit to date and everyone else is going bankrupt. Just think if the govt made all that money...interesting to think about. There is a lot of justification for nationalizing resources. Under capitalism the only thing that has thrived is corruption.

And Obama will have a majority to work with to bring it about. He won't..but if they THINK he may, it may bring on some better business practices to prevent it from happening. It's the "if you own a dog, you don't have to bark."

And with the talk of strengthening unions, creating jobs, raising minimum wage, new fuel standards in autos, gasoline substitutes, manufacturing energy-saving products, higher taxes is the last thing that big oil has to worry about - hence, gas is $1.99/gal. Thanks Voinovich

I don't want socialism, but if they think it may come about, things will improve...

1. The price lowering is also due
to fears of a global recession. Less jobs, less trade, less manufacturing and less consumer spending means there will be lower demand for oil.

2. I don't know if they fear him, but if they did that would be just one more point in his favor.
