Use FlipFlop AGAINST Bush. Bush is the FlipFlopper-in-Chief.
Edited on Fri Sep-10-04 08:44 AM by blm
Bush was AGAINST the $87 billion for Iraq before he was FOR it. In fact, he said he'd veto the bill if it asked for the richest 1% to forego a small portion of their taxbreak to help pay for the War in Iraq.

Bush was AGAINST the 9-11 Commission before he was FOR it. Bush put up every roadblock he could to prevent an investigation into what happened on 9-11. Reminiscent of his daddy's roadblocks when John Kerry was shutting down the terrorists' banks (BCCI) during his term.

Bush was AGAINST a Homeland Security Dept.before he was FOR it. Homeland Security was first proposed by Dems before 9-11 but Bush didn't want it. After 9-11 Bush acted like it was his idea.

Bush was FOR fully funding No Child Left Behind and now he's AGAINST fully funding No Child Left Behind.

2. It's happening already
When James Carville went up against Tucker Askew on the 9/9 Today show (link), he said that Bush had flip-flopped on something. (He also told Tucker to "tell your boy...", LOL!)

And when that spokeswoman Rice was arguing on CNN, she called bush a flip-flopper, the freeer said, "Well, if you want to talk about flip-flopping...", and Rice eagerly said, "Could we?"

14. Correction
Susan Rice appeared on CSPAN's 9/8 Washington Journal, not CNN. Rocknation regrets the error.

agreed.

Here's an article from April 2001 about the proposal.

http://www.afa.org/magazine/April2001/0401hart.asp

April 2001 Vol. 84, No. 4

The commission predicts a direct attack on the United States.
Hart-Rudman Calls for Homeland Defense
By Keith J. Costa

The warning was nothing if not blunt. "A direct attack against American citizens on American soil is likely over the next quarter century. The risk is not only death and destruction but also a demoralization that could undermine US global leadership."

Moreover, "in the face of this threat, our nation has no coherent or integrated governmental structures."

The act of guarding US territory from foreign depredations should be made "the primary national security mission of the United States." Preventing or deterring attacks against US soil or responding to them if preventive measures fail will require a comprehensive strategy and new government structures.

9. "undermine US global leadership"
Bush has insured it did. He had an opportunity to excel and distinguish our nation and failed utterly.

Thanks blm!

7. Oh, there's TONS more flip-flops than that!
Did you know Chimp used to be pro-choice? (Which reminds me, just the other day when he "misspoke" about OB/GYNs he made some reference to the fact that "doctors and patients needs to be the ones to decide what's best, not the bureaucrats in Washington"). First of all, if you're THE FUCKING PRESIDENT, quit bitching about the "bureaucrats in Washington". Moron. Secondly, he just expressed the pro-choice POV, but nevermind that. More Bush flip-flops here (with citations!):

I wrote a letter to the editor with a few of these last month...they're great to forward to friends, etc.
