Glenn Beck: Conservatives voted for McCain hoping he’d die in office so Palin could take over.
Today, radical right-wing blog Red State launched “Project Leper,” an attempt to professionally punish McCain staffers whom Red State’s Erick Erickson perceives to have wronged Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK). Erikson told Glenn Beck today, “Palin was the best thing that happened to” the McCain campaign. To which, Beck agreed, saying many conservatives told him they supported McCain in hopes he would die in office:

BECK: I mean, I have to tell you if I heard once, I heard a million times from people, and I never said this, never said this on the air because you just don’t say these things, but I heard a million times from people, “I’m going to vote for John McCain and, you know, I mean, he’s old. Maybe we get Sarah Palin in the first term.” You know what I mean?

http://thinkprogress.org/

Red State’s Erik Erikson plans a purge of those committing crimes against Palindom:

RedState is pleased to announce it is engaging in a special project: Operation Leper.

We’re tracking down all the people from the McCain campaign now whispering smears against Governor Palin to Carl Cameron and others. Michelle Malkin has the details.

We intend to constantly remind the base about these people, monitor who they are working for, and, when 2012 rolls around, see which candidates hire them. Naturally then, you’ll see us go to war against those candidates.

So far, Steve Schmit, Mike Murphy, and Nichole Wallace are all on the leper list.

Good you bunch of looney tunes - do that! Make yourselves even more inconsequential.

1. Ah yes, ideological purges
Isn't that what Stalin did? And so did the Chinese Communists during their "Cultural Revolution" (you know, kind of like "culture war").

Rethugs may call Obama a Communist, but in terms of methods and intolerance of wavering from the party line, they're the ones who are like the Soviets.

4. I think it's something of a pre-emptive strike. It's pretty obvious that the loony religious right
is seriously fucking up the GOP's chances across the board.

They think that the party needs MORE creationist, anti-intellectual goobers like Palin in charge? Methinks they doth protest too much.

But then you did and always do

They have completely lost control of their message hierarchy. Their masses are loose and about to take over their castle....and bring it all down around them. Be careful what you wish for...

Ask your demigod Bush about that law of nature, if he'll ever show if smirking face in public again.

Rest assured Beck when you meet your untimely end, probably from auto erotic asphyxiation, no one will be there to take over and carry your legacy of idiocy.

25. Of course, because moving even farther to the right worked so well for the GOP in 2008 didn't it?
It's radicals like this that destroy their own party, by strongly going after anyone who even hints at taking an even slightly moderate position on an issue, or who dares speak ill of their party's gods, in this case Palin, even when the comments are true.

What's really ironic about this is how the GOP was for a while calling Obama an empty suit, and just a celebrity with zero experience who's unprepared to lead us in these tough times. So then who does the GOP fall in love with and make their hero? Sarah Palin, an even bigger 'empty suit', with far more evidence to support that claim then there is about Obama. And Palin is a celebrity in her own right, she even spends as much money on clothing as a lot of other celebrities do like the ones the GOP compared Obama to, only Palin didn't spend her own money on clothing, she spent her donor's money on it.

were afraid he would die in office and Palen would be prez. But who the hell really cares anyway?

27. They should split into two separate parties with two separate bases
the upper-class suburban trickle-down flat-taxers and the rural Evangelical nuts. The second group will never align itself with progressive values but the first one might compromise and move more to the center, rather than be completely shut out of the political process.

31. Red State, Cultural Revolution. Red Guards. Moscow Show Trials

I guess the RW don't see that they owe their
historical allegiance to Joe Stalin and
Chairman Mao Tse Tung.

Remember the Red Guards parading the ideologically
impure through the streets with placards on their
chests and dunce caps. Humiliate the backsliders
and revisionists just before the execution.

Project Leper is a purge just like the Cultural
Revolution of 1968 in China where you were lucky
if you just lost your job and not your life.
