I didn't expect to see this on FreeRepublic, at the daily "Pray for President Bush" Forum...
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2126165/posts

Sure, there was the expected offensiveness:

"All I can think here is that we’re being tested. Satan won yesterday, just as he did in 2006. Pig-ignorance, arrogance and blindness won. We must work mightily to relentlessly overthrow and defeat the Dark One’s evil forces before we lose everything."

And the expected panic:

"Dear Lord God,

Help."

But then I saw this one:

"We will now have to Pray for President Obama.

Pray for him and the safety of his family and pray that he does listen to those that opposed him and that he sees the way."

That's a hundred times more gracious than anything I ever expected to see posted by a FReeper. :wow:

8. That last person actually reads the bible
Edited on Thu Nov-06-08 06:56 PM by DesertedRose
"I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for EVERYONE— for kings AND ALL THOSE IN AUTHORITY, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness."

That's in I Timothy.

I also appreciate that they said to pray for Obama's safety....since so many of that poster's peers want to see him hurt (or worse).

13. At the African-American church I went to Tuesday night,
when the election watching party first started, there was a prayer and the pastor mentioned McCain and Palin and I thought that was very gracious, too.

14. Their FUCKING PICTURE Of Lady Liberty with a SWORD AND SHIELD? DISGUSTING
Lady Liberty is a symbol OF WELCOME to the people who would come to this great country to be a part of its FREEDOM. She's NOT A BATTLE SYMBOL that will smite those who come here and fend them off with a stars and stripes SHIELD.

Only XENOPHOBIC MORANS would see her that way.
