Norah O'Donell on MSNBC just showed a county breakdown map in blue with a little band of red
just now which was entitled "Obama's Blue Heaven" to a couple of R operatives. It was the most beautiful map. Did anyone else see that and catch where she got it from?

2. Something like "the real Bible Belt"
it was an interesting breakdown of the vote data.

Here's my post:

I was trying to be humorous about it, b/c the "little band" as called above, seems to really correlate with the Bible Belt. What I found interesting is that the only part of the country that did NOT shift blue was because of religion, I believe... based on the geography corresponding w/ the most "intense" part of the Bible Belt. I believe what drove this narrow band of the country to shift red, going WAY against the trend nationwide, was religious fundamentalists' fear of a "Muslim" in thew WH.

The AZ is easy to understand... McCain's a native son.

I can't for the life of me understand why Louisiana (especially South La.) shifted more red. North LA IS part of that mentality, but South La. is VERY different. I know, I'm from there. Maybe the cajuns have become more fundamentalist (most are Catholic), or maybe the Ayers/Obama is a Mulsim nonsense was pushed more there. NOLA, at least, went more blue! (even though it lost half it's population).

However, the map is a great depiction of the nation's shift to blue.
