11. Heck, I am in RED Illinois.
Most of this region went for mccain last night. We only had about 6 counties in southern Illinois that went for Obama. If it was not for Chicago, Illinois could prhaps be a red state. Uggggggggh.

Look for youself if you think I exaggerate our situation here. Funny thing is that this is better than it was in 2004 with Kerry. And if you go to the link, click on the Senate to see how Durbin did, then the House to see how the state is divided up there.

2. Tag you're it--the new Texas!
Yeah, we're sick of being at the top of the "sucks" list...

3. At least we only had three electoral votes
to give up to McCain/Palin, so we didn't do too much damage in that way -- but it sure is embarrassing that Ted Stevens, convicted of seven felonies, is currently leading Mark Begich by 3,000 votes. Keep your fingers crossed for the absentees and late early voters. There are still about 60,000 votes to be counted, so there's still hope.

5. Those absentee ballots are probably going to go to Stevens
I'd imagine most of them were filled in and mailed before he was convicted. The early voting may be a different story, though.

6. Can you believe it, d_b?

I'm seriously wondering what's wrong with our fellow Alaskans. As if the convictions aren't enough -- HE'S 84 FREAKIN' YEARS OLD!!! Good grief. I'm all for senior rights and all that, but this is ridiculous.

8. Please don't go.
Please.......

At least we're making progress in the state legislature. That should be worth a little something anyway.

9. That was very beautiful. I watched every moment of it.
I liked the part especially where the guy had said that this was one step in carrying out Dr. King's dream. :D

Thank you, Blue, for posting this. It warmed my heart to see people of all colors celebrating this new change across our country. And it especially was telling that the newscasters said that there were few McCain or Palin folks at the place of celebration.

Where were they? ;)

10. k&r for AK and Alaskans. Too bad you now have to deal with the
ignorant vicious vindictive sexist egoist. Good luck with that.

12. Oh, yeah, it's going to be fun.
My hope is that she will be so relieved to be back here that she'll chill out with all the divisive talk. That was so unlike anything we had heard from her before, at least as governor, that it kind of blew all our minds. What an eye-opener. She should be severely humbled by now, and maybe she'll realize that her reach exceeded her grasp.
