NC State BD Elections Unofficial Results Obama 2,110,285(49.67%)/McCain 2,098,595(49.40%) LINK
Obama is winning by 11,690 votes.... but the counting goes on.

However, provisional votes are in the process of being counted, and the total votes reported counted at present is 4,248,285 compared to 4,293,645 recorded as being cast, leaving a difference of 45,360 votes.

AND REMEMBER NC has a bifurcated ballot which requires a separate vote for President and a straight Democratic/Republican Party Ticket selection. It has been reported in past that as many as 3% of ballots cast in NC did not register a choice for President.

Those of us working the polls yesterday for the Obama Campaign in NC made sure the voters knew that they had to vote for President first before selecting a Straight Party Democratic Ticket.

3. And People Thought I was Crazy!!!
I posted here saying I was glad that the die-hard Palin lovers in my neighborhood lived on my street, rather than one street over which is in North Carolina. Our neighborhood is split between NC and SC. I was so glad to see the rabid FReeper types in SC, because in NC their votes would have actually mattered...

And with a split this razor thin, we couldn't afford those 20 McHate votes in NC! So I don't like my neighbors, but I'm glad they're MY neighbors and not in NC!

7. I believe the provisional ballots are going to weigh heavily in favor of Obama...
We registered a huge number of new voters in NC, and early voting resulted in approximately 1/3 of total votes being cast BEFORE election day, NOV 4.

New voters typically have more issues which result in provisional ballots being cast, and newly registered voters in NC were heavy with Democrats.

Last Night I spoke with the Executive Director of the NC State Board of Elections, Gary Bartlett, at a voting precinct where he personally ordered it to remain open an extra hour because it opened late. This particular precinct had a huge percentage of African Americans. From what I have seen so far, I think they are trying to be as fair as possible.

10. We had one case where
the poll worker was given a ride to the polling station, along with the ballots, by her son.

He dropped her off in the morning, and they both FORGOT THE BALLOTS! :eyes: lol

Immediately upon noticing the error, he returned with the ballots. But it meant that people at that polling station were delayed voting by about 40 minutes.

6. GOPs are padding that total somehow - there is just NO WAY - NC Dem party drilled it into voters
this time about voting for Obama FIRST and THEN voting straight Dem.

No way did McCain have that kind of turnout here - just no way.
