2. I'll second that...
though when I was phone banking, I found some of the most enthusiasm from the baby boomers, it was the youth of America that got out the vote. They were there when their country needed them most.

They deserve credit, and I hope it restores their collective faith in the system and the idea that they can make a difference.

who got the rest of us on board. Bless their little hearts. I just really do love them and appreciate them. I'm in awe. :loveya:

6. Give us older folks some credit too
for raising a generation without racism. (It's still around, but didn't stop us from electing an African American.)

35. Thank you!! Yes, I'm 66, but somewhere I read that 45% of the electorate
in my age range supported Obama. I think that sort of mattered!!

13. What are the official numbers?
I thought they said we turned out in 2004, just not at the huge numbers people were hoping for.

What do the numbers look like this time around?

15. Under 65 went Obama
So the youth can stop harping on the boomers now too. The youth just swamped their vote which I suspect gave us the EV in a lot of states.

38. Thousands in line at any one time in the center of the state as well
3 1/2 hours (and a big tuition difference) away in the center of Pennsylvania, Penn State students stood in lines of 1,000 that snaked though the student union building (the HUB) all day. Big increase in turnout over previous Presidential elections. Stations were set up to help students know where to go to vote, people were offering rides to off-campus polling places - it ran like clockwork in spite of the lines.

If this man organizes the country like he organized his campaign, we're in good hands.

40. Which, ironically, isn't a huge difference from 2004.
The big difference is they all went for Obama this time, whereas they supported Kerry by just a 10% margin.
