4. I don't think that's true.
There are lots of people here that hate everything, but the Emmanuel rumors went over well the last couple days.

10. I think that's very true.
it's also why he isn't actually the progressive he's labeled here as being.

During his 2002 campaign, he said one of his major goals during his house race was to
help make health care affordable and available for all Americans

His association and support of the Clintons also re-enforces that, and works with the Clinton wing of the party

6. He's not the best politician for us, but he'll be a kick-ass Chief of Staff
I think he'll fit that role very well. He's got the temperament and personality for it, and Obama will definitely be running the show, so no worries here.

Obama can not have a White House full of DU types. You need differing points of views or else things just devolve into group-think. I think Rep. Emanuel is a smart guy.

THAT is the reason he won the election.

28. Wow.
Can't even wait 24 hours to start attacking members of your own victorious party. Classy that!
Who the FUCK do you think is responsible for Obama winning..ITS THE CENTRISTS..Ohio, Va, Penn..none of those swing states would have been won without them.
Stop being such an intolerant schmuck.

29. Schmuck you, too!
It was the belief that a Democrat will FINALLY
stand UP to the republicans that carried Obama
across the finish line.

I don't think we should waste ANY time in holding
our representative's feet to the fire.

But carry on with your OWN intolerance.

30. Far lefties
on this site hate him because he's a member of the DLC - the right wing of the Democratic party. He's a capable, intelligent choice, though. Obama is going to PO a lot of the left wing of the Democratic party because he means what he says - he's going to deal with everyone and reach out to everyone for their knowledge and opinions so he has all the information he needs to make the correct choices. Some here want to trash the Republican Party AND the DLC. Unfortunately, that's not the best way to bring about cooperation and consensus in the country. Myself, I'd be perfectly happy if we had a Kuchinch-type country - but it just isn't - and probably never will be.

33. Remember, CHIEF OF STAFF DOESN'T MEAN POLICY ADVISER!
Obama is not going to be taking orders from Rahm, he will be using his skills to keep things tidy. I've got no problem with it.
