Bush Forced to Own Up to Broken Promises as New Ad Airs in Ohio on Friday
Portsmouth, OH - When President Bush travels to Portsmouth, Ohio on Friday, he will be confronted by his broken promises and wrong choices in a new ad the Kerry-Edwards campaign will air to welcome him to the area.

The new spot showcases Bush’s failures for working families, as part of the campaign’s continuing plan to highlight how the president has made the wrong choices for America over the last four years and moved our country in the wrong direction.

“George Bush won’t talk about his failed record when he comes to Ohio Friday,” said Kerry-Edwards campaign spokesperson Phil Singer. “From skyrocketing health care costs to record job loss, George Bush has made the wrong choices and weakened America for the last four years. It’s time for a new direction and the Kerry-Edwards plan to make America stronger at home and respected in the world.”

“Portsmouth” takes a look at the wrong direction the country has moved in under George Bush with skyrocketing health care costs and declining family income. The ad reminds voters that Bush has broken his promises to take the “side of working families.”

Over the last week, the Kerry-Edwards campaign has tracked the president’s trips through Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Iowa, Ohio and West Virginia with ads reminding voters in those states about the explicit promises that George Bush made to them and has since failed to keep.

Script: “Portsmouth”

Narrator: In 2000, George Bush never bothered to come to Portsmouth. Now, he’s here promising to take “the side of working families.” But in four years, he's taken things in the wrong direction: Health care costs are skyrocketing and family wages are down $1,500. It’s time for a new direction. John Kerry, a real plan to cut middle class taxes and reduce health care costs. John Kerry. Stronger at home. Respected in the world.

John Kerry: I’m John Kerry and I approved this message.

1. Good Ad - every swing state deserves one like it!
Thanks for posting the link.

P.S. Suppose Bush will call this a "Personal Attack."

2. Good ad
But you can bet that Stupidhead won't have to face up to any of his broken promises, in Portsmouth or anywhere else. That's not his style.

5. NPR says these type of ads are a first
in that they are tailored for a specific area/town. The commentator said he was surprised these hadn't been used before, but he feels they will be very effective.

BTW, is Bush still requiring loyalty oaths, etc, before anyone can see him? Maybe that's why he doesn't want to debate in St. Louis.
