Will Bush be allowed to wear an earpiece during the debates
I mean, come on, we all know he couldn't function without it. Isn't stuff like that covered in the debate rules?

4. I'd really like to know
the idea of Bush debating Kerry with no assistance is utterly laughable. Look at how Bush performed in that interview with the Irish reporter - outside of his canned GOP responses and silly code words and phrases he has absolutely nothing to say

11. I suggested a take-off on Adlai Stevenson on Kerry's blog
After a tough question to Bush: "Don't wait for the guy in your earpiece to tell you what to do! Answer me now!"

13. YES!
YES YES YES!

A thousand times YES!

Can you imagine the media play that'd get the following day? God, Bush could become a Nobel scientist for the rest of the debate after that line from Kerry and the media would still choose to focus on that zinger..

Can you tell that I'm in love with that line? :loveya:

6. If no earpiece, will he be allowed to sit on Uncle Dick's knee

while Uncle Dick whispers into his ear what to say, like at his appearance before the 911 Commission.

12. Yes. Also the following rules apply:
The debates will all be taped. Smirk gets to re-do any answers he gives and re-record any video of the debates and splice them in the appropriate place.

Bush* will have a holographic halo in place over his head the entire time and will have a cross on his podium.

Kerry will have a holographic devils horns over his head and will have a hammer and sycthe on his podium.

When Bush* speaks, there will be background music of harps and angels singing.

When Kerry speaks, there will be music from the soundtrack of "Jaws".

These have all been negotiated by James Baker and are subject to change.

18. No.
There was a representative of the debate commission on Republican..er..Washington Journal the other day, and that question was asked by a caller. She stated that no earpieces, will be allowed, and no consultation of any sort. The candidates will be on their own to answer questions.

19. I think it should be specifically "outlawed". Bush should "forfeit' if...
... he's caught wearing one.

I mean, this is funny and all, but isn't it implicit that the debates are supposed to be mano-a-mano?

The sad thing is, if he is wearing one, you won't be likely to hear about it. But I think Kerry should have a f***'in ear, nose & throat doctor look over Bush before the debates!

20. Or Just Proceed With The Debates ALLOWING Him To Use An Earpiece...
... but have someone make a TAPE RECORDING of his backstage helper's voice. They only need to use a scanner that can pick up the cues being transmitted to his earpiece receiver. Once they lock in on it, the recording can later be overlayed with the debate tape so that all of America can see what a fraud he is.

22. "Allowed" No body tells the King what he can do!
Wonder who works the sound system. It would be great to hear the voice of God speaking into George's ear and then listening to what comes out of George's mouth.

23. Excellent Point...
I do believe that the result would be rather amusing. We would get to observe first-hand how Bush's* "brain" processes (and transforms) information.

Will he be spoon-fed typical Bush-style 6th-grade vocabulary answers? Or will Bush* be given "straight" answers that he'll have to parse down into his own version of English.
