Most of middle America don't really care that U.S. foreign policy
is essentially incompetent and makes us hated by the rest of
the world. As long as their President is a tough guy they
will rally to him.

As Clinton said, the mid-term elections showed:

Strong and Wrong beats Weak and Right.
