Calm the Hell down on Virginia!!!!
Edited on Tue Nov-04-08 08:15 PM by livedemocarticordie
McCain is severely underperforming in all the rural counties--louisa on (meaning doing less well than BUSH in the last election)---THAT underperformance plus the fact that college towns and Northern Virginia numbers aren't in means GOOD NEWS for OBAMA. McCain is also UNDERPERFORMING In rural counties in INDIANA!!!

10. go watch CNN and the comparison maps!
Its the key. John king is comparing McCains results in red counties to Bush in 2004 and McCain is way underperforming. Obama is doing way better than Kerry. Relax!

13. The swing should kick in soon.
Fairfax and Alexandria have started reporting a few results. As an example, Alexandria, with 37% in is breaking 69% for Obama. The six thousand extra votes for Obama there just cancelled out all of Rockbridge County's votes for McCain.

24. And there it is.
Hey, I'd really like to thank all the fine people at DU, at TPM, at Daily Kos, who provided me enough good information that I spent this night with nary a twitch.

Of course, I also spent last night with... nary a twitch... and haven't slept since then, so I'm going to sleep.

Don't let 'em steal it this time while I'm napping.

18. will take longer to count in the north.
Keep in mind for Virginia. Fairfax county, the heart of the blue north, added paper scantron ballots this election so election chiefs are calling in results much slower as they are learning how to tally the results with this new ballot. Our precinct took an hour longer than normal to process and Obama took 64% with 79% turnout).

22. Seventy-nine percent turnout?
Seventy-nine percent of the population do NOT get off their La-z-boys to reelect Bush.

20. keep your eye on the ball
McCain is getting 52% in counties where Bush got 57 or 6o+. H can't win by underperforming in rural counties because he will lose big in Northrn VA and college towns as well..
