Bush is losing southern Oregon
Southern Oregon went for Bush in 2000 although Gore carried the state. Last night Medford's KOBI, the local NBC affiliate, conducted its second presidential telephone poll. In August Bush squeaked by by a little over one percent. Last night it was Kerry 52.90% - Bush 43.09. No, Dick, this is not Bush-Cheney country anymore.

2. I hope this is true--
Medford has some fundamentalist-religious-rightwing billboards along I-5 that are scary.

3. Hooray! that makes me feel much better
I lived down in that neck of the woods for many years - I know there is a strong conservative element, but there's also a strong liberal element and I'm glad they've come out of the woodwork.

One of my best friends teachs high school in the area. Last spring he was pretty disturbed by the level of malice his students displayed towards anybody even slightly left of center. I'll have to get in touch with him and find out if he's seeing a change in that.

this is the kind of evidence that makes me want to pull some money from Oregon to give to Colorado.. or Nevada. I'm convinced that we have the Left Coast in the bag. We need to reallocate money from there to other states.
