The media signed the loyalty oath!
Edited on Thu Sep-09-04 10:29 AM by MrWiggles
(I don't mean literally signed a loyalty oath but judging from their behavior they might as well do it!)

Bush doesn't want the town hall style debate? I guess he is scared that people will ask tough questions that the media is not allowed (or refuse) to ask him.

I don't blame Bush since the media already signed the loyalty oath but undecided voters in St. Louis might not sign the loyalty oath until they get some answers to real questions at the debate.

Bush is a coward!

2. WTF indeed
Could the fourth estate possibily become more co-opted? Democracy cannot function without a free press willing and able to scrutinize our government objectively and rigorously.

I haven't heard anything about the press being forced to sign loyalty oaths -- can you link to any sources?

4. Good point - Bush has been covered at ALL his media ops, right?
and of late, anybody attending a "get together with the pResident" has had to sign a "Loyalty Oath", right?

RIGHT??

I wouldn't put it past them to have to sign a loyalty oath to get in to tape the resident . . .

7. YES! Kerry needs to call bu$h* on this
He needs to say, "Bu$h* claims to be a strong leader, but he is trying to avoid one of the debates. He does not want citizens to have the oppurtunity to ask him hard questions that have not been pre-screened by his advisors.

I challenge President Bu$h* to have the courage to defend his convictions, and his record, in front of the American people, unscripted."

If bu$h* still refuses, Kerry should say bu$h* was AWOL in the debates just like he was AWOL in the National Guard.
