Bush Request to Move to Alabama was Denied
Bush moved to Alabama unit without Air Force permission

BY LARRY COHLER-ESSES AND BOB PORT

New York Daily News

NEW YORK - (KRT) - George W. Bush left his Texas Air National Guard assignment and moved to Alabama in 1972 even though the Air Force denied his request for a transfer, according to his military records.

In fact, Bush did not even ask for an official transfer until nine days after he moved to Alabama in May 1972.

The Air Force quickly rejected Bush's request, saying the fighter pilot was "ineligible" to move to the Alabama unit Bush wanted - a squadron of postal handlers.

Nevertheless, Bush stayed in Alabama until his Texas commanders finally gave him written authorization five months later to train there.

1. Bush's 9/5/72 letter shows his arrogance
First Lieutenant Bush writes to a full colonel and signs the letter "George". This is highly improper from a military protocol standpoint, but I suspect he was reaffirming his privileged position by doing so.

3. Why is this letter dated September but the news article...
says "In fact, Bush did not even ask for an official transfer until nine days after he moved to Alabama in May 1972."

September is a hell of a lot longer than nine days.

4. Two different alabama units
In May, Bush tried to transfer to Alabama's 9921st Signal Brigade, commanded by R.R. Bricken. That request was turned down, as the article mentions.

The written order grounding him from pilot status is Sept 19, 1972, but the verbal order was Aug 1, 1972. In the midst of that, Bush transferred to the 187th Tactical Recon Group in Alabama.

So the May stuff is relating to his failed attempts to go to the 9921st.

The September stuff is about his successful transfer to the 187th when he was becoming grounded. Note that there was a previous written order, directing the issuance of a future written order. That first meta-written-order was 5 Sept 1972, so it looks like Bush was prompted to transfer because he was being grounded.

You can check into this on my web site at http://ofb.net/~bushsr

There is a calendar I made there, but I have to update it with this week's news and findings. This week was an overwhelming amount of more data, mostly about who was pulling the strings, and why Killian writes such odd memos. (Killian was being pushed into it all.)

5. But dittoheads say that if there's documentation it MUST be wrong
So if Kerry's documentation, unchallenged for 30 years, says he's a hero, then he must NOT be. But Bush's documentation, showing that he disobeyed orders, sought preferential treatment, left Texas without permission, lost his flying wings when his plane was on HIGH ALERT in Texas, and didn't his physical even after being ordered to, must mean that he served honorably.

Bullshit.
