Screenings of the Greg Palast Documentary,
‘Bush Family Fortunes’
This 70 minute long documentary follows the award-winning reporter-sleuth Greg Palast on the trail of the Bush family, from Florida election finagling, to the Saudi connection, to the Bush team’s spiking the FBI investigation of the bin Laden family and the secret State Department plans for post-war Iraq. Additionally, there is a 20-minute interview of Greg Palast discussing the documentary. The DVD also features an interactive document section where individuals can go through documents Palast has uncovered, read about them, see video clips and hear sound bites pertaining to investigations of the Bush Family.

What: Organizing advance screenings of ‘Bush Family Fortunes,’ before the DVD’s official release date of September 28th, 2004.

Goal: Generate a strong and positive grassroots buzz about the documentary with audiences of a minimum of 100 people.

Why: ‘Bush Family Fortunes’ documents Greg Palast’s BBC investigations which underlie much of the information presented in Michael Moore’s F/911. ‘Bush Family Fortunes’ will help spread the truth about the Bush/Cheney administration.

When: During the week of September 10th- through Sept 17th , 2004 we are launching nation wide screenings which will continue to take place through October.

Where and How: Throughout the U.S., the grassroots will organize events. Use this event to not only inform but fundraise (see below).

Recruit House Party Hosts:
The advance screenings will be followed by House Parties/Meet-Ups to screen ‘Bush Family Fortunes’ on Saturday night, October 2nd. During the event,
Greg Palast will do a nation-wide conference call (exact time to be determined, estimating 9 PM EST). There is NO minimum audience required for a house party. This is another good fundraising opportunity (see below).

Turn Events Into Fundraisers:
Greg Palast is making this DVD available at cost for sale at these events. He will give all royalties back to the individual event that sold the DVDs. Cost is $6.50 per DVD and the retail is $15.00 per DVD. The profit can go to your events chosen cause. For the advanced screenings, these would be pre-sale; because the DVDs won't be in hand at the event. A pre-sale order form will be available to hosts and/or the host can direct people to the www.gregpalast.com website to buy the DVD (indicating that they were at your event). For the house parties, the DVD will be released and available for direct sales at the house parties.
