PEOPLE! WE HAVEN'T WON ANYTHING YET!
Enough with the congratulatory and back slapping threads. Save them till Wednesday. It's not over till McGrumpy gives a concession speech. I know that things look very good right now but never underestimate how desperate the Neocons and Big Business are to keep power. Many of us here remember election night 2004.

Volunteer tomorrow if you can. Keep the faith one more day. Pray if that's your thing. Tomorrow night we can really celebrate.

As Kent Jones used to say Vigilance.

It is tied here. Not statistical tie. A tie down to a tenth of a percent. We are stressed...

17. Are you getting the Reverend Wright commercials there?
I've seen it 3 times tonight here in Denver. I'm wondering though if it really converts the remaining "undecideds" whoever the heck they are.

Seeing that crowd in Springfield yesterday sure was surprising. That's gotta give you hope.

10. I'm with you. I won't really celebrate until the last lawyer goes home!!
I lived thru 2000 and 2004, I take nothing for granted. But man.. I am SO ready to have this done!!!

No champagne posts or threads from me until McCranky concedes. Some people were not here in 2004 and don't remember the pain of that pre-celebration turned to devastation.

14. That's right
It could be stolen. We don't think they will because of the numbers, but it could be.

Obama could have 5 million more votes but lose to the electoral college. That's a fact.

16. Bullshit. Any outcome other than an Obama win would be so out of the ordinary...
Edited on Mon Nov-03-08 10:35 PM by Lorentz
... that everyone in the world would cry foul. Sorry, but I'm not buying this "be vigilant!" crap anymore.

Every poll, every pundit, every trend is predicting an Obama sweep. Even Karl Rove, the DU-anointed political mastermind of our generation and "man behind the curtain", has called it for Obama. What, is he just fucking with us for his amusement? He knows the score. Why can't you figure it out?

Read 'em and weep -- Obama is going to win. It's scary to be on top, eh.

This country has suffered greatly at the hands of the republicans!!! We need to make sure that doesn't happen once again!! We have to overcome the "LOW INFORMATION" vote!

29. In 2004 we were behind and hoping that turnout would win it for us
Edited on Mon Nov-03-08 10:57 PM by ItsTheMediaStupid
This is what polling was telling us then. We were behind in both the electoral vote and popular vote. See the link below for details.

http://www.electoral-vote.com/evp2004/Pres/Maps/Nov03.html

Today we're 7.1 points up based on an average of 10 polls today at electoral-vote.com and projecting 318 EV conservatively (Yahoo). I expect a big victory, maybe a landslide of historic proportions. I feel good and don't mind saying so.

BTW, I don't think anything is over. I did about four hours putting out door hangers in Central Virginia today and will be canvassing tomorrow.

There's no need to be Debbie Downer. If I want that, I'll turn on Maddow.

We're so far ahead, I don't believe that fraud can win it for the bad guys this time.

(Edited for typo)

Let people have their joy. Thinking that the sentiment exposes risk or complacency is just silly at this point. The volunteers have never been so ready to go as they are right now. Quit the preachin.

23. You're right, but ya know what ...

We've worked really, really hard for this, and if we go into tomorrow with some seriously positive energy coursing through us, we'll take it all the way through.

I'm not in a congratulatory mode at the moment, but I'm definitely "feeling the vibe."

And I need it. We all need it.

27. No doubt...
I feel it too. I want it to be so badly I can taste it. I've never felt so good about voting for a Presidential candidate and I've voted in every Presidential election since '72.

30. There's the difference ...

I've been of age since 1987 and have voted in every election of every variety since then.

And this will be the best vote I've ever cast.

Got work to do, lots of work tomorrow, a month's worth in one day, and it's awesome.

At least here in MA. Even those that aren't political junkies plan on waiting on line to vote.

This state is going to deliver a huge victory to Obama.

33. seen today on a lamp post in victoria, b.c.

A poster advertising an event, Obama Rama, at the Red Jacket bar, November4. Doors open at 10 p.m.(giving everyone

time for the news to sink in). In the right hand corner of the poster, are the words, 'heavy drinking, in celebration,

or frustration.'

Meanwhile, across the pond in Vancouver, numerous clubs and bars throughout the city have plans to celebrate (it's

that 'younger people' thing, i think). And then there's that 'Fairy tales can come true, they can happen to you..

IF you're young at heart' secret ingredient. Faith (that something good really has to happen, come on now)that

moves mountains, which are supposed to crumble to the sea, eventually, anyway.

36. Well, it's certainly not going to stop ME from voting in the morning.
You're quite correct, though.

The character Mad-Eye Moody in the Harry Potter series always warned about that, too. "CONSTANT VIGILANCE!!!!!"

With the people we're up against, we can't EVER afford to drop our guard. They'll ALWAYS be lurking nearby, waiting for a chance to pounce. Opportunistic infections are like that.
