Dan Bartlett ''misspoke'' in 1999: Walter Robinson on CNN
this is the second time I've heard this today.

just saw it on Aaron Brown

Robinson said Bartlett told the Wash Post in 1999 that Bush agreed to serve in the Mass National Guard while in Biz school. either that or he DID serve then

Either way, Robinson said that either Bartlett himself, or the WH admitted that Bartlett misspoke when he said that.

Judging from Bartlett's Condi Ricelike twitchjob tonight during John Roberts' fairly tame interview (ZERO followup on most important points), it would be VERY interesting to see him explain WHY he made such a comment five years ago. Upon WHAT information did he base that statement. There doesn't seem to be any good answer for that one. I sure hope he has to answer that question, as he's on TV all the time, lying his creepy ass off on all manner of subjects. He should not be allowed ANY media access without coming to terms with this contradiction. Remember when Ron Ziegler used the "that statement is inoperative" during the height of Watergate? What's the difference between that and "misspoke?"

As has been discussed at length in many threads here, the crux of the issue is the squatter's credibility, or lack thereof.

And, of course, the disgusting irony lying in the fact that this subject was almost completely ignored by the media four years ago, with the exception of the Globe. Had this been covered, even to the superficial extent it has so far this year, Bush would not have come close enough to Gore in the election to steal it.

This story MUST be kept alive. Too bad it's up to the media. Is there any way to keep it going from this end?

1. Email your local media with the link below
Via email - Suggest the media read the facts at the New York Times on Bush breaking law

3. thanks....I pulled that up a minute ago from another thread here
haven't even had a chance to read it yet

CNN--Aaron Brown and Jeff Greenfield--have already agreed that this story is going nowhere, because people have already made up their minds about Bush

they reason that the swiftliars hurt Kerry because, conversely, people didn't have a set impression of him, and the lies were somehow believable

they didn't use the word ''LIES,'' of course, cause to do that would force them to make value judgments inimical to their own storyline of Bush infallibility

really really sickening stuff there

I HOPE to heaven that they are as WRONG as they are arrogant on this one

their HUBRIS is the most offensive aspect of this story, as ususal

the MEDIA are the enemy; not the repuglikkklans; the pugs just do what they do, almost as if they're genetically programmed, like sharks. the media, on the other hand, make CONSCIOUS choices to serve the forces of feudalism, corporatism, greed run rampant....dare I say it: fascism?

not that I haven't used the F word many times before, but it's becoming more and more obvious every day.

2. See how bad these fuckers look when challenged?
Thye have to defend the indefensible and it's hard to do even for as venal a bunch liars as this crew. I fear the only way to keep the ball in the air is for JK himself to roll up his sleeves and call a spade a spade.

salon article from the great Paul Lukasiak, who first uncovered vote fraud in the Fla panhandle in the IMMEDIATE aftermath of the 2000 election

he's another 'amateur', doing the whoremedia's job for them, like Paul Thompson

here:

In 1999, Bartlett said Bush had reported for duty at a Massachusetts Guard unit as required. This week Bartlett conceded to the Boston Globe he must have "misspoke," because it's clear Bush made no effort whatsoever to serve out his term while living in Boston. That answer is reminiscent of Bartlett's response during the 2000 campaign when asked about Bush's failure to take a required military physical in 1972: "As he was not flying, there was no reason for him to take a flight physical exam." But that response is directly contradicted by the Air Force Specialty Code, which required a physical regardless of flight status.

will ANYBDOY hold them to account for baldfaced LIES like the above?

this stuff from Bartlett is FIVE years old!!!!

what excuses can they give? the same lame ones they tried to exculpate themselves for their total prostitution to the government during the war run up? these asses were NOT the government then, so they don't even have the excuse that they were under pressure to run with the BS they were fed by their government sources, who would 'never', of course, lie to them

so sickening
