A personal account from a volunteer, my day today
I started my morning at 6:00 at an area where communters connect to I-95 North from my Prince William County Virginia location. A newly formed group, the Democratic women of Lake Ridge decided to have a rally for the commuters. We held up Obama signs, got honks, thumbs up and other finger expressions and a few rude retorts.

I put on my Dick Cheney mask and a Vote for Change Sign. The base were laughing and energized - not sure that the communters got the joke. The police were called. The officer joked with us on his arrival.

Later we had breakfest and I found out that one of the demonstrators was a young woman in the Hispanic Leadership role who had walked from Richmond. Imagine the work she had done, and she wasn't athlectic, she was heavy like me. She was taken in lovingly by the founding member of the Lake Ridge group. Many of these families have also taken in the Obama volunteers.

I later went to do door hangers and got very exausted doing 80+ and ran out of literature in an apartment complex that I over papered, but I saw when I was there the couple I had helped register to vote a few weeks ago. I went back and got more literature. It made my aching knees worthwhile to see this lovely couple acknowledge me.

Tonight there will be a rally here in Prince William County. Obama started his mainsteam campain here also at the Nissian Center to the West of where he will spI heak tonight. I'm not attending because I have a very important job in the morning. My precinct is so important to the campaign that I have to assure that people vote and I'll be working very long hours tomorrow.

GoBama.

Nancy
