My (formally) very Republican boss just gave me an Obama bobble-head!

All our little stories make up the BIG story --- and this little story blew me away.

My boss is a former Air Force Flight Instructor, at first glace - he seems quite straight lace and conservative. Military hair cut and clothing right outta a 70's Sears catalog. He tells me he grew up in a very rethug household and his voting history has always reflected that.

Yet he has become so disgusted with the policies of Bush and so dismayed with McCain's choice of Palin, that he decided to actually give Obama a chance. He listened. And for the first time ever, not only is he voting Dem but he has become vocal about it at work.

His enthusiasm even drove him to buying me an Obama Bobble Head doll this weekend which says, Yes We Can!

Just a little story that contributes to all the big reasons Obama will transform our nation. One person at a time, he has managed to reach into the hearts and minds of folks that have never voted blue --- and change them. :)

I am so looking forward to a country where the president has widespread popularity and the opposition is a bitter minority.

At the beginning of the primaries, I preferred Edwards's "we have to take it from them" rhetoric and thought Obama's message was not strong enough. It's obvious now how much Obama had it right.
