Obama's Greatest Hits (Best Speeches)
Edited on Mon Nov-03-08 10:24 AM by Clio the Leo
Ok, so I'm loading up my iphone with all of Barack's greatest moments of oratory excellence in case I have to stand in line for a long time tomorrow.

Here's my list.... (am I leaving anything out?)

2004 DNC Speech
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_fMNIofUw2I

2007 Iowa Jefferson Jackson Speech
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tydfsfSQiYc
(thanks Big Blue Marble!)

Iowa Caucus Acceptance Speech
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqoFwZUp5vc

New Hampshire Concession Speech
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fe751kMBwms
(thanks Occam Bandage !!!)

St. Paul Democratic Primaries Acceptance Speech
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gI3FLN1t8j0

"Closing Argument" in Canton, OH
http://www.clipser.com/watch_video/898451

(Note: I'm leaving the DNC nomination acceptance speech off of the list on purpose. While it did the job as being a good policy address, he purposefully cut back on the oratorical flourishes. I think it did what he needed it to do, but I also think you have to dance with who brung ya, so that's why I'm leaving it OFF my list.)

3. Iowa JJ Speach last November.
Some said at the time that if he went on to win the nomination and
the Presidency, that this was turning point.

6. Thank you for starting this thread.
I, too, have been wanting to collect all these speeches as well. Each one is
historic stepping stone on his journey to the Presidency.

That tie should be Smithsonianized. :)

We should also include the South Carolina Primary Victory speech.
It too was an amazing moment.

10. The new hampshire concession speech will go down as one of the greatest in the history
of American rhetoric, and not only because it was subsequently sampled for the will.i.am video, which is itself already an instant classic in the art of the remix.

The speech was perfect, and salvaged what could have been a run ending night.

11. That '04 speech was the beginning of his campaign, whether he
knew it or not. I think everyone in that room said to themselves, "he's it."....Great stuff, many thanks for posting.
