You have to give John McCain CREDIT for not being openly racist? Bullshit. And HE might not have played the race card personally, but his campaign did and did so flagrantly. I'm not sure whether or not I would've felt more comfortable with him as President even back in 2000 or not now that the question of who he he REALLY is has been definitively laid to rest.

4. Palin was only expected not to break down in the debate

The conservative media were all impressed that she did not run off the stage or start crying. There has been different criteria for "success" between the parties this entire election cycle. The Republic party are masters of word games due to the hypocritical nature of most everything they do. They save their tenuous grasp on reality by dancing around the inconsistencies between their words and actions. They break down issues into talking points so their followers can resolve doubts with little sayings when their conscience is telling them that they are about to lie.

The media has been forced into adopting the games by the corporate owners. We need a large dose of anti-trust medicine to break up the "too big to fail" conglomerates into entities that can fail without destroying their corner of the markets. The "Market" can't work with only a handful of players, there should be dozens of independant organizations.
