Woke up Crying
Edited on Mon Nov-03-08 07:02 AM by cjsmom44
Out of the blue I woke up crying...it seemed as though all of the pent up emotions of a lifetime were behind the tears...and at that moment I realized how deeply...how very deeply I truly love this nation of ours....
I have been in so much anger and pain for eight long years, along with the rest of the nation, over the outrageous actions of our own government ...all of the lies... the WARS.......the actions AND in-actions ....the blatant abuses the discrimination and hatred. But it goes back further than just eight years...I am 54 years old...a white WASP female baby boomer...I remember Vietnam, JFK, RFK, MLK, Church Bombings, Racism, and hatred of others that are somehow deemed different and subversive.
Maybe just maybe our nation has finally "grown up".
On November 5...................
I truly pray that I can proudly wave our flag....and let the freedom of our democracy RING!
Peace Peace Peace...to everyone...Love all of you at DU !!!

6. Great post
I did not sleep well last night. My mind was on the election and post I read on DU yesterday. I'm praying for Obama/Biden to be victorious. We need this, the country needs this, even those voting for McCain and others need this.

8. I had a terrible dream last night
That PA, OH went McCain and I was somewhere where it was so foggy/difficult to see the TV so I was panicking at what was going on. VA went Obama, but FL was still a tossup. It was all down to which way FL would go, and waiting a few hours for the western states CO, NM, and NV to come in to know whether Obama or McCain would end up winning. I woke up before the final result was known, but that was very unpleasant to say the least.

10. I feel the same way!
I know exactly what you're talking about. I've been emotional, myself.

I, too, love my country. We are at a cross roads and have one more opportunity to change things and get it right. The country failed to do that in both 2000 and 2004. This may be our last chance.

I am cautiously optimistic for tomorrow and will do my celebrating when I'm sure it's over and we've won. I appreciate all my fellow DU'ers. It helps a lot to be able to have a place to come to in order to share like minded opinions, have lively, yet civil, discussions when minds disagree, and to be amongs other people who simply "get it".

11. This election has taken a major toll on me.
I'm meeting with a cardiologist on Nov 6th. I am scheduled to have a heart-cath the following week. I'm a little scared. I can't take much more stress, and I don't know what I'm going to do to pass the long hours of Nov 5th. The only way these bastards will win this election is to steal it again.

When Barack Obama is declared the President Elect on Nov 6th, there will be a great weight lifted from my heart. I'm 41 years old...
