Charlie Cook said the reliable polls - Gallup being one of them - point
to the possibility of a landslide. For Obama, of course. He said that on Hardball just now

8. From what I have read, the network polls don' thave the best track record
Edited on Sat Nov-01-08 06:50 PM by MidwestTransplant
but I guess the ABC one is a tracking poll so maybe it's better than non tracking networks.

3. studiously avoiding overconfidence here, but...
from an historical perspective, that is clearly what one should expect. The litany of failure, corruption, deceit, overt destruction of the Constitution in the past 7+ years is unprecedented. You'd have to combine economic failures from Hoover, scandals from Harding and Nixon, lawbreaking from Nixon, domestic failures of A. Johnson, war mismanagement of LBJ to come even close. The idea that the country as a whole would blithely accept such a travesty is not credible.

Not saying it is a given, by any means, but if it comes to pass it won't be a surprise.

CBS, Gallup, Newsweek and NBC all were close and today they have Obama winning big.

9. Predict popular vote tally of 59%-35% for Obama
That is the breakdown of those who DON'T think Palin is qualified to be VP versus those who do.
