The Sunday before the election is usually when the candidates get the straight poop if the news is not good. Watch for a change in demeanor from McCain tomorrow. We could have another crisis and a suspension. He is so unstable he could do about anything.

2. McCain at least has an obligation to the down ticket races to put on the brave face
and still claim he can win. We would expect no less if it was a Democrat in the same position.

4. if that is what normally happens, I wouldn't want to be in their shoes
He'll probably blow a gasket and yell at them to get off his lawn (campaign headquarters)! Oh, to be a "fly on the wall" during THAT conversation.

5. Most of the past losers have admitted they were told
Carter in 1980, then Mondale, Dukakis, Bush, and Dole and Dole all had "the conversation". I don't think Gore or Kerry did since the elections really were in doubt. Losing is going to be tough on McCain. I almost feel sorry for him. In 2000 he tried to run an honorable campaign and got blindsided by Rove so Moron could win. This time he decided to take the low road himself and picked a moron to be running mate. That isn't a pretty picture.

7. I suspect it feels alot like driving down a rain slicked road and then
rounding a sharp curve only to see a big moose in your lane...

6. He was probably told when the polls came in after the last debate.
This election is now set in stone. All he's doing is going through the motions to try and prevent a 1964 style down-ticket catastrophe. And he won't succeed at that, either.
