Half of undecideds don't vote - per Pew Research
Just heard Andrew Kohut from Pew Research state on NPR's All Things Considered that according to Pew's research about half of undecideds at the end of the campaign don't even vote. With about 6.6% undecided and a similar 6.4% separating Obama (49.9%) and McCain (43.5%) nationally, that feels pretty safe for Obama.

In other words, if all of the undecideds who do vote break for McCain, he still falls short because the other half don't show up. If Obama holds at 49.9 (RCP average)and McCain gets 3.3% bump from converting 100% of voting undecideds, McCain still only gets to 46.8%.

Comforting.

2. That sounds about right to me.

Many of the undecided voters I have spoken to can not identify a single issue that they are undecided about. Why? Because they are oblivious to the issues. They are people who have absolutely no interest in politics and no interest in developing any interest in politics. They are registered voters, but have a sporadic voting history. It doesn't make them bad people or stupid people. They are smart enough to know they don't know anything. I agree that a lot of them won't show up.

4. That's a good thing. After 2 years of campaigning if someone
is still undecided they're too stupid to vote.

5. Thanks. I've been trying to dig up some stats on this with no luck.
This is exactly what I had hoped to find out!
