Obama Says McCain Abandons High Road

updated 12:30 p.m. CT, Fri., Oct. 31, 2008

October 31, 2008 (AP)--Barack Obama says John McCain has abandoned the integrity of his 2000 presidential run to engage in "slash-and-burn, say-anything, do-anything politics" in a last-ditch effort to get elected.

Speaking in Iowa, Obama sought Friday to hold his Republican rival's negative ads against him, although the Democratic presidential candidate is running negative ads too.

Obama quoted McCain as saying two elections ago that he would not take the low road to the highest office in the land.

Said Obama: "The high road didn't lead him to the White House then, so this time, he decided to take a different route."

The Illinois senator said his campaign will "respond swiftly and forcefully with the truth to whatever falsehoods they throw our way."

1. Hell! he's abandoned the low road, too.
Now, he's just crawling along through the sewers looking for any old shit to throw.

Show me the Obama ads that suggest McCain is a terrorist, pedophile, socialist, welfare queen, and in cahoots with Iran. Funny there aren't any.

5. right...
if he wanted to Obama has plenty material to use again McCain but he hasn't....I just saw today a video from a few years ago where McCain said on CNN that he respects the Hamas win in the elections and we should sit down and talk with them...now if Obama had said that you would see ads all over the place of this video....

3. "The Democratic presidential candidate is running negative ads too'

THERE IS A FUCKING DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NEGATIVE ADS (which Obama does run to show people the weakness of McCain's plans) and SLASH AND BURN ADS.....I hate when the fucking media does that..."well Obama is doing it too." If Obama wanted to he could have run national TV ads showing McCain's relationship with Liddy, the Keating 5, etc...

4. THAT "McCain abandoning the high road" has to be the understatement of the decade.
