3. Most likely this race will be decided by a runoff
Neither candidate, regardless of who wins, looks like they will pull over 50% of the vote. Its actually quite likely that the Dems will be at 59 seats (with Sanders) and this runoff would effectively would be for the filibuster-proof seat. With Obama not on the ballot for the runoff, and the Republicans focused on preventing the loss of the 60th seat, winning outright now is the best chance the Dems have at picking up this seat.
