McCain wants the nation "to live on a budget like you do." Ever notice
he doesn't include his own household (which I take to be representative of all households in the McCain family income bracket) in that pronouncement? Can we point this out over the weekend? THe poor and the middle class will continue to tighten their belts under a McCain admnistration and McCain and his buddies will be buying bigger belts.

3. I hate the whole "live on a budget like YOU do!" argument. Because in case people haven't noticed,
one of the reasons we're in this whole mess is people spending on credit. Like the government does.

4. He wants the govt. to live paycheck to paycheck
on credit, unable to pay all of the bills, without health insurance, without benefits or a job?

Cause that's the reality for many people.

Or does johnny one note think we all have 6 homes and a $6 million annual income, married to a beer heiress?

5. Maybe we need to post his houses and cars again?
I sent them out to quite a few people to point out how removed the McCains are from reality.

I need to send that to a number of people.

Thanks! :hi:

11. No, but I think DU has a photo section somewhere.
I'm not familiar enough with the layout to find it. I'll see if I can Google for it.

6. Not to mention
that his own family would see a $750,000 tax cut under his plan while the middle class would get a tax INCREASE (health insurance taxed as income).

McCain is also a redistributionist, just in a different direction!

8. If that happened, we'd be a third-world country.
And I resent, again, this purposeful use of bad grammar. The GOP has zero respect for the American people. It's disgusting.

9. This is a more silly (and honest) analogy than it seems
Since it's typical for afamily to have a mortgage that is over twice their gross income (actually that's considered conservative) the country could be sonmething like 22 Trillion in debt before we rteach that level of GDP. Since Republicans are borrow and spend types this is quite possibly what they are aiming for.

Add on then the non-mortgage debt which is some 1/3 of the median income of a household and we could have non-budget spending of 6 trillion or so for boondoggles like Iraq before the country budgets like we (collectively) do.

So in other words McCain is saying we should have twice the national debt and three times the off-budget spending if he were elected.

Sounds about right.

Pray (if that floats your boat) that the government NEVER budgets like the American family does.
