Let's Invade and Liberate Sweden! Sarah says they're not "free"
In her ranting about "socialism" Palin claims that there is no freedom or entrepreneurship in those awful countries that have elements of social welfare in their policies.

I guess that means we should form pre-emptive invasions of countries like Sweden, Germany and Canada, who are suffering under the yoke of Dreaded Socialism.

6. And Alaska.. don't forget socialist ALASKA!!!
Palin "spreads the wealth" in Alaska as good as any socialist anywhere.

8. I sure wish the "liberal media" would point that out more often
Edited on Fri Oct-31-08 09:31 AM by Armstead
Alaska's economy is based on "spreading the wealth" of the oil companies.

If Palin would walk her "anti-Socialist" talk, she'd end those public subsidies and let Alaskans fend for themselves, while the oil companies siphon all of Alaska's wealth out of the state.

9. We have plenty of freedoms her in Denmark
Edited on Fri Oct-31-08 09:49 AM by dbmk
Just not the ones she likes. Like marriage for gays, free access to abortion and a political scene almost entirely free of religious talk.

Oh and free visits to the hospital and free education.

10. She thinks you are tyrranized by those gays
Heterosexual marriage is not safe if gays are allowed to also become marriage partners.

15. My GOD! You poor, oppressed, downtrodden people! We have to liberate you!
We'll drop bombs from forty thousand feet and kill hundreds of thousands of Danes, but it'll be okay, 'cause the survivors will be FREE! Ain't that wonderful?

:sarcasm:

14. Yes, my family has just been through a harrowing experience in Soviet Canuckistan.
This is what socialised medicine looks like:

My mother was diagnosed with cancer. She got chemo, radiation, prescriptions, home nursing visits, a trip to the ER, and endless visits with various specialists. Her doctors did not have to fight with any insurance agents to treat her with an agressive, new chemo agent that is not (yet) the standard treatment for her type of lung cancer. She got second opinions and chose her doctor. There were no copays. We don't even have any idea what her treatment cost.

There were no unreasonable wait times - she was diagnosed on 5 Sept (07) and started chemo/rads on 24 Sept. She saw her 2 oncologists weekly during treatment and every 3 months since.

She's now in remission!

So, yes, harrowing, but only because of the cancer, not because of the socialism.

So please don't spread your freedom up here. Please? I don't mind having to get a license for my hunting rifles. I like my union. It's way too cold for you, and we talk funny, eh?

21. Thanks for sharing that story.
Some here in the U.S. need all the factual information about single-payer health-care that they can get. Stories like that help people understand.

I'm glad to hear that your mother is in remission!

17. Funny, because her foreign travel consists of Canada and Kuwait..... THAT IS IT
She had a stopover at an airport in Ireland, unconfirmed reports that she may have actually visited the airport gift shop.

So, she's been to Canada. Clearly a bunch of socialistic commies.

And she has been to Kuwait. A friggin monarchy that the Iraqi army conquered in 35 minutes.
