Poll question: Republicans have a magic “Way Back Machine.” How far back would they go for the "good old days"?
Everytime I get into a conversation with a conservative I become profoundly aware that in their mind there exists some ideal time in the past where, if we could only go, things would be good again.

In that vein I have imagined a magic "Way Back Machine" where one can set a date and go back to those "good old days." My question is, where exactly are those "good old days" in the mind of an average Republican?

7. As a general rule conservatives pine for the era of their childhood mythologies
Edited on Thu Oct-30-08 07:23 PM by Kurt_and_Hunter
So it ranges from the time of their childhood to the time of their grandparents' prime years.

Roughly age ten to age minus-30.

So the answer usually depends on the age of the conservative.

8. The Republican party peaked in 1865....
...when the bullet entered Lincoln's head. Down hill since then.
