The Question McCain Won't Ask at Rallies.....Limbaugh...
To counteract Obama, why doesn't McCain ask his "crowd" (cough, cough) how many of them make OVER $250,000 per year? Ummm..because only Cindy and the guys on stage with him would raise their hands! BUT.but.but...I make this snarky comment to bring up the mentally-induced disease that has brought this country to the pits (war, financial collapse, etc.).

The true economic elite (the upper 2 to 5%) who ARE the power of the Republican party, have used their propaganda arm (like Limbaugh and his ilk), to convince those pathetic sad-sacks in his crowd that they ARE the upper 5%. They honestly believe that they, like the upper class, are the "rich ones" and that the other 95% are, of course, liberal welfare cases. They cannot embrace the fact that they, at best, are lower middle class and about one fart away from extinction. They truly believe that 95% of this country is welfare living off their "big" bucks taxes---the handful of dollars they pay.

Look at them. Listen to them. Get a clue: "Rich people" do not look like them; be caught dead in their clothes; live in their "huts"; eat at their "low-life chain restaurants; drive their cheap cars; send their kids to their "public---or church-private low-life schools"; or even let them on their property to pick up the shit from their dogs (they would be stopped at the gates of the gated community). But these simple bastards (like Joe, the fake plumber)really think they are "one of them". If ever we could reach these pathetic, under educated, ignorant people and educate them that they ARE NOT the upper 5%, then maybe we could get a government that actually functions FOR the people!!!........Don't hold your breath.

1. You're exactly right.
I would wager that if you were able to poll 100 percent of the country's Republicans, 75 percent of them would say they're in the top 5 percent.

(And in addition, about 50 percent of them will swear four years from now that they voted for Obama in 2008.)

2. Internal--these are the people..
..who you have to beat over the head with a two-by-four to ever get them to realize who is "pissing" down on them--rather than "trickling" on them. A good example is their "Joe the Plumber". The "gap" in this country is an ingnorance gap where you are too goddamn stupid to even know what class you belong in. Maybe they should try to get into their local country club and see how far they get. This is what happens to brains that have a steady diet of people like Rush every day!!

3. You will never convince them by insulting them.
I've had a lot of luck talking down R/W'ers over the years because I can speak their language and understand their culture.

The best way to reach conservatives is to convince them that their so called conservative leaders really aren't -i.e. to disillusion them, not to insult them.

Go after them using their own ideological arguments and fundamental premises like the Bible or the Constitution. It's fun to quote the bible to bible thumpers to show how Jesus opposed school prayer, gun ownership, war and capital punishment and believed in a 50% tax rate, universal healthcare and socialism. The book of Matthew is really a great place to start.. :)

The whole deal is this:

People like Hannity and Limbaugh, et.al. have programmed these people to expect the very kind of nasty insults you are putting out now and given them snappy comebacks. All you will do by this kind of insulting rhetoric is polarize and energize them against you.

When you attack them from within using their own ideas against them it really destroys their will to resist and they are forced to admit that they are wrong. Once you do that you can start pointing out how what they are being told isn't true in other ways and go after the fact checks and THEN you can start explaining how YOUR guy's ideas are better and how Democrats are really sensible logical patriotic people who just have their best interests at heart.
