Why the the MSM keep talking about national poll numbers?
We don't elect a president with a national, popular vote count. I don't even understand why national polls are done in a presidential election.

2. Because the winner of the popular vote almost always wins the election, too.
That's why we do national polls.

7. But doesn't it give people the impression that the race is closer than it actually is?
I know a few McCain supporters (RW relatives) who insist the race is a dead heat based on those polls. If you look at the electoral map, it's not even close. However, I'm not getting my hopes up because anything can happen in the next few days ... and it probably will.

11. Almost always doesn't cut it
see- stolen 2000 election. EVs wins elections therefore we should be concentrating more on the state by state polls. IMO

4. Republican owned corporate media is showing data designed to favor McLiar?
You mean ALL FIVE conservative owned corporate media conglomerates are showing the only polling data that makes the Republicans look a bit better? You mean they are revealing the bias of their network owners?

6. Because they need a story, and are also trying to drive
the polls so they DO tighten, so they have a story and a reason for existing.
