Comcast cable outage to 20,000 customers in South FL during Obama event with 30-minute TV program

Hmmmm, just like the 60 Minutes program on Don Siegelman was blacked out in Alabama.... who thinks this was just *an accident* in South Florida last night?

The Obama-Biden rally was between 7:30 and 8:30pm, which included Obama's simultaneous 30-minute TV program with live national feed at the end of the rally at 8:30 pm.

Nice, huh?



Cut Comcast cable line drops 20,000 customers

About 20,000 people in Broward County were without cable TV Wednesday night after a construction company cut a Comcast cable line by mistake, a company spokesman said.

Customers in Pembroke Pines, Sunrise and Plantation were affected by the outage, Comcast spokesman Spero Canton said.

The outage, which lasted nearly two hours for some people, upset people who were looking forward to watching the World Series and seeing Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama live on television from the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, where he was hosting a campaign rally.

Service should have started returning about 8:45 p.m., Canton said.

All customers should have had their cable working again by about 10:30 p.m., he said.
