Joplin, MO newspaper endorses 1st Democratic pres candidate in 100 years!!!
What hasn't happened since 1908? (Hint: It has to do with Obama)

The Joplin Globe today endorsed Barack Obama for president, a decison that marks the first time since 1908 that the newspaper has backed a Democrat.

How long ago was that? That same year:

* The Ford Motor Company debuted the Model T with a purchase price of $825.00.
* The University of Missouri opened the first school of journalism.
* The Grand Canyon is designated a National Park.

Here's what the newspaper said:

16. For all of 4 months...
I've been told that the reason I exist at all is because there's nothing else to do in Joplin. I was born about 10 months after my parents moved there.

14. The Perfect Storm..I tell ya!
Just some snips from your article..

"Following the market collapse and the recent Wall Street bailout, we believe that the nation needs a new economic plan.

Obama's plan to provide tax cuts for middle-income Americans is a welcome one, as is his plan to eliminate capital-gains taxes for small businesses and provide cuts for businesses that create and keep jobs in the United States.

With the war in Iraq well into its fifth year, Obama has said that it is time for the Iraqi government to begin stepping up to take on financial responsibility for its country at a time when our country is spending billions of dollars (not to mention the human cost) each month in our efforts there."
