Palin calls for break from Bush energy policy
Palin made only a passing reference to solar power in her speech and instead renewed her call for more drilling in U.S. coastal waters. She repeated her signature anthem, "drill, baby, drill," which seemed to fall a bit flat on the audience at the plant even as it's become a popular chant at her rallies. Palin also called for the development of clean coal technology and said she and GOP presidential candidate John McCain would press for the construction of 45 new nuclear power plants by 2030.
Where did I hear all this before... why it's almost magically like it's 2000 and 2004 again. Heck in 2000 I remember we were even going to limit CO2 emissions. Clean coal, yep I remember that plan. Alternative energy like solar yep, heck we were even going to focus on grass as fuel. Oh and nuclear power, yeah I remember that too. And of course America needed to drill more and more, even if the oil companies weren't very keen on the places the rethugs demanded the drilling take place. So it's a break from the Bush energy policy in practice, but it's pretty much the energy policy republicans have been promising us for the last 8 years. The one they don't really believe in. The one that they aren't ever planning to do. It's like every 4 years they think I forgot all the lies they told me 4 years ago. Republicans don't respect you as a voter.
