McCain's hopes for winning two months ago were based on keeping the emphasis off of the economy. Now it lies on a prayer that Americans are stupid. I can picture the strategy meeting - went something like this

McCain: we need to get the people on board with our plan but Obama is giving them lower taxes.
Palin: maybe we should be more mavericky.
McCain: that isn't working.
Palin: the people at my rallies are really excited
McCain: You stupid fucking cunt - those idiots are already voting for me.
Palin: Sean Hannity thinks we are on the right track and Obama is off track.
McCain: You really are a fucking stupid cunt
enter Rove
Rove: Maybe you are giving Americans too much credit. I have based my career on the stupidity of the republican electorate.
Palin: Hey republicans is really smart just like me.
McCain: I think you may be on to something Karl...go on.
Rove: Under the Obaama plan, most americans will benefit from a tax cut and the rest of americans will benefit from most Americans spending more and not having to pull savings out of their 401k. We can't get around that so follow me.
We paint Obama as a socialist and convince America they are better off without more money because then if they win the lottery some day they will win even more than they would have. Americans love the lottery.
McCain: I'll try anything to get elected.
Palin: I still don't understand....we Republicans is smart.
Rove: No Sarah you Republicans is stupid, now lets hope Americans is stupid too.
