McCain doesn't care about the Fundamentals of the Economy
Edited on Wed Oct-29-08 09:38 AM by marco86
McPal says Obama's tax plan will discourage the work ethic and entrepreneurship.
Small businesses will not create jobs as a result.

John McCain was right by accident (about the fundamentals of the economy being the workers)
He tried to cover up his stupidity by saying the fundamnetals of the economy are strong, by saying that the fundamentals of the economy are the American workers (the middle class)
Nobody believes for a second that he really believed that, as nobody would use that terminology to refer ro workers.

However here is where he was right by accident, but shows that he is truly clueless. We are a country driven by consumer spending (2/3 of GDP). This keeps more people emplyed than anything else. More jobs will be gained or lost depending on the consumer. Things got screwed up by encouraging everyone in the nation to buy a bigger home, or remodel their kitchens with near zero short-term interest. Consumers will spend more by having more. If you want to keep Joe the fantasy plumber working toward some day making 250k, consumers need to have money to pay him. Successful small business will be collapsing in mass in the next year because small businesses rely on consumers, and consumers are doing all they can not to spend.

Therefore, if McCain cared about the fundamentals of the economy, he would focus tax breaks on the fundamentals of the economy, or the 95% of the population that uses the bulk of their income for consumption.

The argument being used against Joe the fantasy Plumber is is that 99% of small business will not get a tax increase.

Here is the better argument.

Why doesn't he ask Joe the about to close his doors restaurant owner who he thinks needs more money in his pocket. He will agree that it should be the middle class because they are his, pardon me used to be his customers. Shortsighted fools making 300k a year and upset about an extra few thousand in taxes will soon not ne making 300k a year if consumers do not spend. This hurts every size company in a recession. Less Ipods are sold less everything.

1. What complete bullshit. He is trying to lower the tax rate on folks who WORK
for a living and raise the rate on those who sit on their asses and collect dividends/bonuses off of the hard work of others.

What a complete crock of SHIT.

That our economy is in big trouble and if tax policy is not focused on consumers, those dividends will decrease and more jobs will disappear. If things get bad enough, foreigners stop investing in American companies and the dollar, and then forget it.
