I know this is a new feeling for many of you
And a strange feeling for the rest as it's been a long time.

But what you are experiencing is the feeling of winning. It's OK to be worried. It's OK to be a little crazy. It's especially OK to dance.

We are moving as an unstoppable force toward an historic moment that will go down as one of the most important events of all time. This is the moment when America makes a revolutionary step in the direction of greatness. America was built on the idea of coming together as one nation to accomplish greatness. This will be the moment when America realizes how important that coming together really is and that we can accomplish anything we set our sights on, so long as we do not become divided by issues that are not important. We will, for the first time, see ourselves for what we have become and make a committment to becoming something better.

Yes, the feeling you are having is new for many of us, and a long time coming for the rest. I hope that, as a nation, we continue to look forward but we always remember how bad it has been.

1. why people are denying themselves the feel good of this makes no sense to me. doesn't mean
there isn't work to do and voting to be done, but to do it with joy is so much more fun and that energy is infectious and good.

i personally have been doing a little dance for a while now..... spreading the joy

11. totally disagree. no one more disappointed than i. i also dont let a past or projected future
from stopping me from experiencing now.... hence, reality.

god, how fucked up life would be if we allowed things to "pain never leaves you"

2. Believe me.....
I am probably in the upper range of worrying compared to most, and I'm by nature a pessimist.

But if and when we pull this thing off, nobody will scream louder with happiness and nobody's victory dance will be longer and nobody's smile will be larger.

3. I remember that wonderful feeling when Bill Clinton won
after 12 years of Repuking us into debt. And that day at the polls the line was down the street and we knew we were going to win, even though Bill Clinton was the guy who nobody ever heard of with a lot of charisma. So I remember the feeling, and this is it, only the 8 years have been worse than the 12 were.

4. I've only been old enough to vote for Gore and Kerry so
I don't even know what it's like for my gun to win (and it not be stolen)

5. Haven't felt this way since 1996
and I'm still afraid to let myself feel it. Not until Obama and Biden are duly sworn in on Inauguration Day.

6. Thanks. You are right... I surrender to this feeling.
It's just been a very, very long eight years. Tuesday can't come fast enough.

8. What cinched it for me was looking back at the 2004 polls
This is a whole new ballgame.

What I can't understand in retrospect is why I believed Kerry couldn't lose in 2004, but contrasting the polls then with the polls now, it is obvious that our condition now is far, far better.

I've been fiddling with these electoral maps for days and I can't make Obama lose no matter what. It looks basically impossible for McJackass. Now, the icing on the cake would be to humiliate him completely in his home state.

14. Rosa sat so Martin could walk so Obama could run -- but me?
I'll be dancing if we win.

But we have miles to go before we sleep.

15. Someone posted something that really helped me put things in perspective ...
That there has to be something between hand-wringing and overconfidence. I've been trying to stay in that middle zone.
