Why isn't anyone in media debunking less taxes more jobs??
I've worked retail. When sales are up, we get more hours and have to hire more people. When sales are down, we have to cut hours lay off people.

What makes job grow is the middle class having money!!

Why isn't anyone pointing out that these Bush tax cuts have already existed for years and we have no job growth so obviously they don't work??

1. heard a wingnut this morning on WNCX trying to do an Obama smear
and his logic may have backfired ...

Tried to tie wasteful spending by Pepsi (trying to market a new logo) to the fear of an Obama "capital gains tax increase" ...

and I realized ... if the company is spending money to avoid paying more capital gains tax (which, most likely, would amount to far less than the several hundred million to be spent), this is going to mean that people are going to be out there changing all the logos which are plastered everywhere ... job creation ... so Obama's tax increase has already created more jobs ...

2. Guy just left my office less than two minutes ago and said 'we are going to be Comrads'.
I knew what he meant, but I made him say it anyway. He thinks we'll be living in a 'socialist state'.

3. and that's why they need to be out there smacking this stuff down
and hammer away at this to the american people that mccain's tax plan is the exact same as Bush's that we have already had for years now.. How's that working for ya? Where are the jobs

and they need to say Obama's tax plan is what we use to have before bush came to office. That ties McCain to Bush even more, and seperates obama from Bush

4. Most Newsmodels read from a script
The "media" tossed common sense out the window way back in 1980 when Reagan got elected. It's one of those face/palm, obvious on its face kind of things, but that never stopped them before. I guess it depends on what you want to achieve with your economic policy.

5. Probably because everyone in the media makes $250K
They'll actually have to start paying their fair share starting next year

9. Um... actually, they don't.
Outside of the over-paid anchors, most people in media make bupkus.

The average starting salary for a journalist is about $22,000. That's nothing.

14. I think there is no distinction..
between a tv tool and an actual journalist, which is a shame. While the 'news' in this country is still limited it's not nearly as bad as the tv. Otherwise we wouldn't know how fucked up the tv is.

6. Excellent point
Businesses hire more people because they need the extra people to make more money. Businesses don't hire people because the government has given them free money in the form of a tax cut. Instead they pocket the money or distribute it to shareholders.

7. Because the media is owned by 4 corporations and as long as they have
their multimillion dollar homes, jet/yacht lifestyle, and their fancy cocktail parties they don't care how average people do.

8. It's readily apparent, isn't it?
Do you need someone on TV to tell you it is so?

people who make like 30k a year are yelling Obama is a socialist?? And STILL think he is going to raise their taxes.

And by media I mean Obama or Obama surrogates should be out there saying this everyday, several times a day to counteract McCain's and Palin's spin
