A long-term patient of mine just left, she's a 70 y.o. AA lady who's just delightful, been with me for 20+ years. She and her brother, who's 74 are canvassing for Obama. So he's going door-to-door and he meets this gal in her early 60's and shall we say they start 'dating'.
Well, he's over at her house and he's taken Cialis unbeknownst to his girlfriend and he's trying to have sex. He's not doing too well, not because the Cialis isn't working, but because he's having pain in his sub-sternal region. This is going on a while and he excuses himself to go the the bathroom and promptly throws up, the pain is slightly worse, but does he call 911? No, it's back to bed.
Finally, he goes home and the pain is getting worse. The next day he calls his sister and she asks him why he's out of breath. He tells her this story, minus the Cialis, and she says to him that she's calling 911 for him and he's to get ready, 'cause the ambulance is on its way.
He gets to Temple Hospital and they promptly admit him...when the sister shows up, she's there for one of the residents who's taking a history, and when asked if he takes any meds, he denies all. The sister, asks, "What about the Cialis?". So he breaks down and tells the resident the whole story.
Three stents later, he's resting comfortably.
He wants to get out of the hospital by Tuesday so he can vote.
