Kerry needs to hit back on this charge. It is important. Bush has given him an opening - just like the Big Dawg said - it is an opportunity. He can really cut him down a few notches on this issue if he does it correctly. If he doesn't, it will continue to do him damage.

2. Silver lining...

I saw this reported on CBS's Evening New, and they made a fairly big deal out of it, broadcasting it within the first 5 minutes of the show I believe. However, they then actually disputed it, showing how Kerry hasn't changed his basic position, only that he's been getting to the punch-line faster. I consider this pretty encouraging; instead of just repeating the RNC's talking point, they actually evaluated it, found it to be wrong, and called them on it. Now, they didn't take the next step and call Bush on his own, frequent, and disasterous flip-flops, but it was still a promising start for the media.

Did anyone else watching CBS tonight come away with the same impression?
