How to do the subtle smear CNN-style:
First grab an outrageously false Palin soundbite from her latest rally:

For example, if she says something insane like: "Obama's a Martian... and you just can't trust those aliens"

Then:

1) repeat Palin's soundbite every ten minutes, and...

2) get your pundits to debate the "Martian" issue over and over again...BUT in order to ensure "balance", you make sure that half of your pundits are certified alien-abductee nutcases.

3) make certain that the pundit debate goes nowhere and just creates confusion amongst the viewers. This is done by never giving any pundit enough time to make a properly detailed point or rebuttal.

4) Make certain that some viewers are left with the impression that Obama's may be a Martian... mainly because of the confusion CNN helps to promote.

5) Repeat above as many times as required until Obama's poll numbers are sufficiently reduced.

1. Avoiding the facts, only reporting nuances, appealing to people's fears and emotions..
...Fux, CNN - they all do it. Trash TeeVee.

2. You know, a few years ago when I was an avid CNN, MSNBC, and NPR listener
and "balance" became all the rage, I literally thought that I was losing my mind because I could no longer be CERTAIN of anything and EVERYTHING seemed too complicated and I just felt like the notion of TRUTH and FACTS had simply become mythical concepts. While I generally have always had more a "grey" perspective on life, I always thought that there were at least a few things in life were true and could be counted on no matter what but listening to too much corporate media basically can make your mind crazy.
