Just found out our crappy health insurance cost will quadruple next year

we're paying for the awesome benefit of not having to cover the first $1500 in medical expenses (Even though they will make up that amount in about 3 months of payments from us). Beyond that it's $4500 out of pocket if we get hit by a bus.

Vote for Obama and end this madness, please. I just crawled out of debt to find out I'm going to spiral back into it.

fortunately, I can afford it. Lots of people can't.

As an example, one of my neighbors came to my door earlier this evening. She was selling Chick-Fil-A cow calendars to raise money to pay the bills from her Dad's heart transplant. Given my own recent experiences with heart disease (I had an angioplasty in March), I of course bought a couple.

Mine only went up $30. I feel very grateful. My little company pays 90% of my premium and 75% of my family's. They also pay a portion of our deductible. It will be very interesting to see how things change in years to come.

I always work on the insurance renewals, and every year we get such a $$ spectrum of bids. The company we were with in 2008 raised our premiums quite a bit for 2009. My agent told them we were shopping around and might go back to our old carrier. Old carrier was quite a bit cheaper than when we left them in 11/2007. (Huh?) Here comes current carrier with much better rates, so we stayed with them. Most of my office is 50 or older, and that affects how we are priced.

First off, he'd tax the shit out of it, and your employer, if you have employer based care, will pass that cost to employees. The Repukes want to end employer based care so people can fend for themselves in the "free market". McCain's plan is step 1.
