Republicans send out phony flier in VA telling Dems to vote Nov. 5th
Not surprised, this is the only way they win elections. Corrupt asses.

A phony State Board of Elections flier advising Republicans to vote on Nov. 4 and Democrats on Nov. 5 is being circulated in several Hampton Roads localities, according to state elections officials.

In fact, Election Day, for voters of all political stripes, remains Nov. 4.

The somewhat official-looking flier - it features the state board logo and the state seal - is dated Oct. 24 and indicates that "an emergency session of the General Assembly has adopted the follwing (sic) emergency regulations to ease the load on local electorial (sic) precincts and ensure a fair electorial process."

The four-paragraph flier concludes with: "We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause but felt this was the only way to ensure fairness to the complete electorial process."

No emergency action has been taken by the General Assembly. It is not in session and lacks the authority to change the date of a federal election.

State Board of Election officials today said they are aware of the flier but disavowed any connection to it.

"It's not even on our letterhead; they just copied the logo from our Web site," said agency staffer Ryan Enright, noting the flier has been forwarded to State Police for investigation as a possible incident of voter intimidation.

10. Let's hope the culprits were stupid enough to use an easily trackable color printer that IDs
IDs itself on every page it prints.

From http://www.eff.org/press/archives/2005/10/16 :

"Secret Code in Color Printers Lets Government Track You

Tiny Dots Show Where and When You Made Your Print

San Francisco - A research team led by the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) recently broke the code behind tiny tracking dots that some color laser printers secretly hide in every document. The U.S. Secret Service admitted that the tracking information is part of a deal struck with selected color laser printer manufacturers, ostensibly to identify counterfeiters. However, the nature of the private information encoded in each document was not previously known.

"We've found that the dots from at least one line of printers encode the date and time your document was printed, as well as the serial number of the printer," said EFF Staff Technologist Seth David Schoen. You can see the dots on color prints from machines made by Xerox, Canon, and other manufacturers (for a list of the printers we investigated so far, see: http://www.eff.org/Privacy/printers/list.php ). The dots are yellow, less than one millimeter in diameter, and are typically repeated over each page of a document. In order to see the pattern, you need a blue light, a magnifying glass, or a microscope (for instructions on how to see the dots, see: http://www.eff.org/Privacy/printers/docucolor/ )."

14. I just used this to pick an eamil fight with my congregation he in NoVa
here is the email that went ou to the 500 folks on the email list,

Well I guess if you are behind, you get to lie to the voters about when they get to vote. This is an ugly election day hoax being pushed here in Virginia

This is being distributed in Northern Virginia and in African American communities downstate. It is a complete hoax and is beyond shameful. The state police and the BOE are investigating this as a mass act of voter intimidation.

What would our Virginia forefathers: Thomas Jefferson and George Washington say?

I believe that everyone who meets the statutory eligibility requirements should be allowed to vote without exception, There is never any justification for deception or intimidation or fraud. I hope they catch these people and put them in State Prison for a very long time.

Regardless of who you are supporting….make sure you vote on or before next Tuesday.

The Church has all flavors of politics. I will get some nastygrams back, but I am setting it up for a week long discussion about the politics of hate.
