GOTV Suggestions: Encouraging People to Stay in a Long Line
Four years ago, my husband waited in line for 4 hours to vote. I am positive that many will be turned off by this. What are some ideas to help encourage people, especially first time voters, to "stay the course"???

I think we should hand out Dunkin Donut holes...

1. guitar music?
Would it be allowed for musicians to entertain softly? Or for someone to play a boombox with nice music?

5. This is actually something I've been thinking about.
We don't have long lines at our polls due to the small size of our precincts, but I was thinking that it would be great to go to larger city precincts with supplies like those mentioned above plus maybe even folding chairs for those who can't physically stand that long, umbrellas, extra jackets from the thrift, etc. Anything that will make it easier to wait in long lines.

I may do that.

7. I was thinking place holders also.
In long waits, going to the bathroom and losing the place in line is not an option..if there were people to stand in for someone until they returned it would be great! The lines on Nov. 4 are going to be horrendous.
