The MSM repeatedly discusses Obama's fundraising advantage, as though this rendered the playing field uneven. However, what we never hear is what is the fair market value of Fox News essentially becoming a 24/7 attack ad against the Democrats in the week leading up to the election.
Even Jon Stewart is buying into this notion that it is okay, because Fox News is counter balanced by MSNBC. However, MSNBC just has two shows, Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann, that are liberal. The rest are mainstream, and in the case of David Gregory and Joe Scarbourough, pretty conservative. Heck, even Rachel Maddow continues to have Pat Buchanan as a guest.
Finally, even Countdown and Maddow never try to make up story lines like Fox's efforts to radically distort Obama's 2001 interview into saying something that is completely opposite from what he actually said. Fox is going beyond commentary, and pushing flat out fiction.
So, to get an accuate view of Obama's funding advantage or disadvantage, you would really need to estimate the fair market value of Fox New's repeated attacks on Obama, and fawning coverage of McCain/Palin. Better yet, take the hours that Rachel Maddow and Countdown are shown on MSNBC, then substact them from 24 hours, and that is the GOP's Fox News advantage.
