10. Begala's screwing up; Kerry was never for the war

Peter King, as all the Republicans do these days, keeps saying that he was all for the war, and now has changed. He was FOR giving the President the authority to negotiate in good faith with this threat of war as a bargaining chip. Yes, he gave the President the authority to go to war as a last resort, but he never said "go ahead and do it", and he wanted it as only the last option.

Junior doesn't get this, and that's the really ugly part: he thinks he was given a blank check to go on his greedfest. He doesn't know the difference. It wasn't some "sure Prez, I'll hold your coat while you kill 'em", and portraying it as such shows that Bush never had any sincerity about negotiating; his plan all along was to attack, and the load of horseshit fed to us about diplomacy was nothing but that.

Hussein was complying with the inspections. Bush lied in his acceptance speech by saying that he hadn't.

Bush used insincere promises to get the authority he couldn't get by being honest. If he had gone to Congress asking for war, he wouldn't have been given it.

Bush also didn't limit the war powers to Iraq; that was done by tenacious legislators. Bush is nothing but a flim-flam artist, which is much worse than flip-flopping; any orphan will tell you that.
